Delhi to Agra
The plan was to drive across northern india, rather than fly or get the train. this has the advantage that you really do get to see more places, and get a feel for real life, rather than just see the destinations. however, india is huge, i mean massive. it stretches from further north than mount everest (delhi is further north than mount everest) to almost touching the equator in the south). this means that there is a lot of driving. the drive to Agra took about 6 hours. the 'sleeping picture' became a common theme for the week.
the roads in india are something else, truly something else. ive seen driving in a few countries that scared me, but india is in a different league, there are no rules, no lights. everyone beeps there horn every few seconds, there are cows, buffalo's, and camels in the middle of the highway, cars going the wrong way up the highway. its madness. more later on this.
another feature of repetition is that everyone, everyone is trying to get money from you...some more ingenius than others. the 'monkey on a stick' didnt work with us on the basis of animal cruelty
