If blog titles were 3 lettered acronyms...this one would be...WTF???

quite the most bizarre thing ive ever seen. in Norway, everyones salary and amount of tax they pay is available on the internet...to anyone! . you simply go to the aftenposten website (national newspaper...link is on my blog) type in ANYONES name who lives in norway, and you get to see their age, their earnings and amount of tax they pay!!!! is this me or is this totally weird???

now heres where it gets even more weird...if you click on their name, this graph comes up, showing a comparison between their earnings, and 1) the income of those who live on their street, 2) the income of those with the same name, 3) the income of those who live in your area, 4) the income of those with the same age, and 5) the income of those in yout town!!!

EVEN more weird than that, next to their name, there is a box with a symbol 'f'...and what this means, is that if you click that, it opens an application in Facebook, and you can post their income data!!!! on facebook!!!!! WTF???!!!

after doing a bit of research on this, it appears that norwegians are very much socialists, and believe in an open book policy, so it levels the playing field so people in the same job should be earning the same etc...

maybe its a cultural thing, but i find this totally totally bizarre

...and with an application on Facebook??!!!! sheesh

p.s. for all the smart-arses...i wasnt here last tax year so my data isnt available, so ner ner...

WTF indeed! I assume that the Norwegians aren't upset about this? God, the problems it would cause in the UK - doesn't bear thinking about!
