Day 3 (pm) Kyoto - Kiyomizu-dera

built in 798, and one of my favourite places we visited, it was built as a school of buddhism and overlooks kyoto city. all japanese cities by the way look identical, every one apart from tokyo look totally the same

the water drinking photo is a natural well, where you drink the water and make a wish...although i have to admit i was that pre-occupied with the joslting and pushing of everyone else i forgot to make a wish until i was walking down the steps afterwards...does this count?

oh, and the main building was built using no nails...interesting fact or what???!
