Weekend
Good weekend, first at home in a while, actually first at home in 4 weeks (ikenotaira, tokyo, oslo...) so had a nice friday night with a bottle of wine and a film at home. saturday i went to see a musical that is being put on by loads of my teacher friends here. its an annual event to help raise money for children in papua new guinea. theres about 8 performances, and i went to a place called murakami to see it. it was based upon charlie and the chocolate factory (with some artistic license due to scenery changes etc...) and it was totally totally brilliant. my great buddy deccy directed it, his girlfriend and my equally good buddy pamela was in it (and was so so fantastic! totally the star of the show for me).
all of the cast and a few friends went for a karaoke party afterwards, all you can drink and sing for £15 all night. i must admit, as the confirmed worst singer in the world, i was a little worried about doing karaoke with the cast of a musical...but that fear was soon allayed as it transpires that only 3 of them can actually sing (seriously). left at 4am, and with a few others slept on my mate kat's floor
sunday a load of us went boarding (we only managed to get to the slope at 1pm due to horrific hangovers) but it was a local resort so that was ok. had much fun, snow was pertty bad/slushy as it was the final day of the season in this area. we will have to go a couple of hours south in future to find the good stuff. started off pretty cloudy but by 3pm it was clear blue skies and totally gorgeous views, such a beautiful day. just to sit on top of a mountain in the sunshine and not a cloud in the sky and to just look at the view was incredible.
(note to self though: look at the view when you are sat at the top sitting down, taking your eye off the slope to look at the scenery when you are hurtling down the mountain as fast as you can go means only one thing....back edge + oh + eeeuunnnnggg + bang + slide + ouch + ooohhhhhh. one thing though, as you lay there on your back, as prostrate as a flip sided turtle not able to move, you do get that good view of the blue sky that put you on your arse in the first place)
yet again, it is monday, and i am perched on my chair at work, attempting to only sit on my right arse cheek due to bruising of my left cheek and back. hmmmm....

Sounds like fun.. though maybe a tad too much info at the end. ;) Can see why you're reluctant to leave.
